Deposits

Learn how to collect deposits from customers when they approve an estimate or when you create a job, so you get paid faster and protect your schedule.

Written by Randy Soderman

Getting paid shouldn't wait until the job is finished. In this tutorial, we'll walk you through how to turn on Deposits in Servgrow, request a deposit the moment a customer approves an estimate, and add a deposit request when you create a new job. By the end, you'll be collecting deposits in just a couple of clicks and cutting down on no shows and last minute cancellations.

Let's get to it!

Collecting a deposit can happen at the time a customer approves an estimate, after a customer approves an estimate, or after you create a job.

  1. Collecting a deposit at the same time the customer approves an estimate.

You can make it required after approval to move forward. The customer can not approve without paying the deposit.

  2. Collecting a deposit after the customer approves the deposit.

You can make it optional to pay the deposit at the time of approval or after the approval. With this, customers have the option to approve the estimate and then pay deposit, or skip deposit during approval and pay later.

  3. Collecting a deposit on a job.

After creating a job, you can request a deposit from a customer.
