Customers are the building blocks for your business. In Servgrow, requests, jobs, estimates, service plans and invoices are all associated with customers. Clients are also where details like contact information and property details are recorded.

Building and knowing your customer database is crucial for running and growing a successful business. If you're not taking advantage of your customer database, you're missing out on potential sales. After all, what's better than repeat business?

Adding Customers: Step-by-step Instructions

To successfully add a new customer inside ServGrow, you will need to complete three sections:

1. Click the 'New' drop-down found in the top navigation and select 'Customer' from the list.

2. Alternately, you can also click the 'Customers' tab found in the top navigation bar.

3. Once you are inside the Customer Page, click the 'Add Customer' button.

4. Complete the customer's Contact Information.

a. Customer's Name: A first and last name for your customer.

โ€‹b. Company Name: An optional company name for your customer.

c. Job Title: Your customer's job title at the company.

d. Email: Multiple email addresses of different types can be added.

e. Phone: Multiple phone numbers of different types (main, work, home, mobile, fax, and other) can be added. You can turn the toggle switch to ON if you want to send text messages to this number. If the client has requested not to receive text messages (by replying "Stop" to messages from Jobber), you will see a message letting you know that they have requested not to receive text messages. If the client wants to resume receiving texts, they can text "Start".

Click 'Next' once you are done filling up the Contact Information.

5. Complete the customer's Address Information.

  • Service Address: This will be the address where the service takes place. You can add multiple service addresses. You can also add or choose which address is used for billing. If only one address is added, that will be used for the billing address.

  • Address Notes: You can add notes relevant to the address or property. Gate codes, pets, etc., or anything else you feel would be important to someone visiting the address.

Once you are done, click 'Next'.

6. Add Customer Notes, Sources, and Tags.

  • Customer Notes: You can add notes relevant to your customer. Birthdate, Favorite Food, etc., or anything else you feel would be important for a team member to know about your customer.

  • Sources: Don't overlook this when adding customers. This is where you add how you acquired the customer. You'll have several options, like Google, Facebook, Yelp, Referral, etc. This is important for tracking marketing efforts and other streams of customer acquisition. You can view what marketing channels are working better on the dashboard widget 'Jobs by Source".

    • 'Jobs by Source' Widget: Jobs by source will give you a bird's eye view of what marketing channels are doing best for paying customers. Jobs by Source only track customers who has paid for a job. If a customer hasn't paid, it will not be included in the tracking.

  • Tags: Add tags to the customer for filtering and/or quicker lookup. VIP, Gold Star Member, Monthly Service Customer, etc.

  • Receive Notifications: When turned on, these toggle switches enable this client to receive notifications for jobs scheduled and visit reminders, job follow-ups, etc.

7. Click 'Create Customer' to complete the adding process.

Note: It is not currently possible to merge two customer profiles into one. You will either need to manually move the data over into one profile and delete the duplicate or keep both clients but rename one of the clients that you don't primarily use to include "do not use" in the name of the client.
